About us
We provide learning opportunities for economic empowerment, technological improvements and mobilise for conscious behaviour especially towards children and the environment within the cottage industries.
ICIA is committed to create a sustainable weaving and other cottage industries in Pakistan befitting the grassroot artisans within the value chains. Currently focusing on wool value chain, strongly believing in active community participation and learning by doing, ICIA has developed and tested different strategies to meet the commitment, led us to formalise a well devised five year strategic plan of action covering every aspect of the wool value chain that needs attention.
During a decade of journey, we have succeeded to facilitate 689 female and 1455 male artisans to build their capacities in vocational and managerial training, advocacy and lobbying, business and enterprise development. Participation of artisans’ communities in local governance processes, increase in wages of artisans, increase in demand of products and export of woolen items to international markets are some of the major impacts of our initiatives.
